Winter

Winter always brings with it the smell of grass burning. I am not a winter person, but the smell of grass fires is definitely the smell of a Johannesburg winter and will be indelibly printed on my memory.

We are fortunate enough to live in a beautiful area on top of a hill, with vistas stretching forever.

In winter we can watch the grass fires day and night.

The views are inhibited by the smoke, but bring with them their own special beauty.

With each fire, the old dies off, and in spring, all the growth of the new greenery bursts through.

So while it may be dull in winter, we must just look forward.

A few months from now, all of this will be worth while.

In the meantime, hot Milo, electric blankets, and hot hot baths. There is some good to winter after all.

Still not working and Andreas can't get the igits out to fix it. They say it is out of warranty. Never mind that it was replaced 2 months ago!

No thanks - winter's not for me...
I'll rather walk around with skimpy cloth's, and cold drinks!

I am lucky enough to have a huge wonderful, multi layered garden, with which I have made various 'project area's'.

I have had great fun and many hours of pleasure putting this wonderland together. Children are always facinated and many an adult has been enchanted by all the little goodies that are hidden and not so hidden all over the place.

In each project area there is a variation of features.
In some areas there are multiple steel goodies, in others painted ceramics, (only collaged my favourites below), and there are statues in lots of places.

I have a special fairy garden, with lots of big and small fairies and fairy houses hidden in trees and all over that particular section.

My newest and latest addition is the wishing well that has just been erected (after standing lopsided for over two years - battled to get hubby motivted enough to get it put up) Its up and its wonderful!
