New arrivals

Long long time since last post and so much has happened. Both daughters have had children, which makes me a granny. A granny. Wow. If you thought you loved your children , wait until the next generation comes along. From the scans, to the agonizing last few weeks wait, it has to be the most beautiful process. Was very fortunate to be extremely involved from day one. B had her daughter first and what a miracle baby she is. B was told it was unlikely she would have children due to her crohns. I was with her when she took the test and at most of her scans and was very lucky to be in the room when our little girl came into the world. After a 36 hour labour, it was a very emotional time all round. Three months later we welcomed my grandson into the world. We are so very blessed. We are now a year down the line and I cannot explain the thrill of watching the two of them grow. When we have children, we are so rushed, and stressed that while we cherish our children, we do not truly appreciate the miracle of life. Each first is so special. I am like a proud mommy on speed. I have become one of those grandparents who keep whipping out the photos (HORROR) and now with facebook - there is a constant daily update on what they are up to. It took a while for me to notice that most people are really just being polite by looking, but have realised I just don't care. Their blank looks can't stop me being THAT granny. How amazing it is to hear a child laugh. Even better - a gleeful giggle. B stays with us, so at a year old we are trying to teach C that no is no. Shes mobile, so gets into everything. Just so hard not to laugh when she points her finger back at her mother and says no back, only to continue touching whatever it was she was touching! To the followers out there. Am back and promise not to just talk about the little sunshine's all the time. Will be hard. But I promise

Hi Karen,

Healthline just launched a video campaign for bipolar disorder called "You've Got This" where bipolar patients can record a short video to give hope and inspiration to those recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

You can visit the homepage and check out videos from the campaign here: http://www.healthline.com/health/bipolar-disorder/youve-got-this

We will be donating $10 for every submitted campaign to To Write Love On Her Arms, so the more exposure the campaign gets the more the videos we'll receive and the more Healthline can donate to research, support, and treatment programs for mental health disorders.

We would appreciate if you could help spread the word about this by sharing the You've Got This with friends and followers or include the campaign as a resource on your page: http://laughterandtears-karensworld.blogspot.com/

Please let me know if this is possible and if you have any questions. And, if you know anyone that would be interested in submitting a video, please encourage them to do so.

Best,

I am lucky enough to have a huge wonderful, multi layered garden, with which I have made various 'project area's'.

I have had great fun and many hours of pleasure putting this wonderland together. Children are always facinated and many an adult has been enchanted by all the little goodies that are hidden and not so hidden all over the place.

In each project area there is a variation of features.
In some areas there are multiple steel goodies, in others painted ceramics, (only collaged my favourites below), and there are statues in lots of places.

I have a special fairy garden, with lots of big and small fairies and fairy houses hidden in trees and all over that particular section.

My newest and latest addition is the wishing well that has just been erected (after standing lopsided for over two years - battled to get hubby motivted enough to get it put up) Its up and its wonderful!
